Dennis Roy Skirvin
2023-12-08 2023-12-08Dennis was a great musician in his high school days...and his good friend Everett Nelms played in the band with him...and orchestra... I knew him because he was a Fireman...for the City of Inglewood..and my Jim was a Fireman for Los Angeles County in Lennox.. They were both trained for the Paramedic Program in 1970-71 at Daniel Freeman...some of the very first Paramedics. He is shown in the photo with the paramedic squad from Inglewood. Dennis was very active in the reunion committees and was such a sociable guy. He had a long illness...and fought it for many years...he was a trooper....rest in Peace, Denny....Diane Tollefson
tribute by Diane TollefsonDennis Skirvin....Lots of our classmates remember Dennis, from Centinela School, Crozier and Inglewood. He was very musical and loved baseball, too. He was married and had afamily and then divorced. He was an Inglewood Fireman and in 1970 he became one of the first Paramedics in California...He was active on our Reunion Committee and always fun to be with. He met Shirley and they had a wonderful and happy marriage. His best pal from IHS was Everett Nelms, who will write a better memorial than I could. I always enjoyed Dennis and he was childhood friends with my husband, Jim, too..they were both Paramedics, too..
